HB961 the Assault Weapons and confiscation bill was killed in the state senate judiciary committee this morning.

The bill was “carried until the following year” in legalese, which in VA realistically means they start over in the next legislative session in January 2021, that an election year in VA state elections, so the pressure will be on this cycle.

Bills for Red Flag confiscation, one handgun a month purchasing, and universal background checks did pass however, and will be challenged in court as soon as the governor signs them.
