I have been carrying my Sig P220 and HK USP Compact 45 during the winter months. Spring is coming around, so the weather is heating up. I picked up a very lightly used HK VP9. I paired it up with the Ontario Knife Company Utilitac II with a modified tanto/spear point blade design. I think they look pretty cool together.
The VP9, for those who are not familiar with HK guns, is a striker fired design by HK. It’s been out for a few years. It was HK’s first venture into striker fire guns, and it is probably the most ergonomically pleasing of the polymer pistols. The big draw back to HKs would be the price of their factory magazines. I will be ordering a few today since mine only came with one magazine. They are $40 a pop. I got a steal of a deal on the gun, which will be balanced out by the cost of new magazines. All in all, it’s still a great gun, and I’m enjoying it so far.
