Let me be clear, I’m not saying Mormons are sell outs. Amongst the prepper community, Mormons who I know are amongst the most prepared, and well armed people I have ever met. Differences in spiritual beliefs aside, their preparedness for disaster is top notch from what I have encountered. It’s not a stereotype, just my own observations.
The leadership of the church, of any church for that matter, can be deceiving in comparison to its congregation. I’m not so sure that this is the belief of the Mormon people, or just it’s leadership. As we all know, religious leaders can be capable of corruption, even more so than the average Joe on the street. Either way, disarming people and publicizing the gun free zone does nothing but invite trouble.
Is there any doubt in anyone’s mind that a “mass shooting” is going to take place at a Mormon church between now and the election? I pray I’m wrong and full of sheet, but it seems like an open invitation to slaughter unarmed worshippers. This is seen as a PR move by some of the faithful. It seems it’s worth it to “popularize” the “global” interests of the church at the risk of inevitable violence and death of the devout.
“Some in the church see the move as a push to globalize the religion, which has more than half of its 16 million members outside the United States.”
