He defends himself, and the police charge him with “reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm”. The guy was in a freaking Motel, not in the woods. This is one reason why a dependable plain Jane factory stock is a better idea than a custom job. The guy is out $1800 because apparently Tennessee doesn’t believe defending yourself against a charging bear is “reckless and unlawful”. If he loses the case, he also loses his gun rights.
